MetaMorph Compatibility

precisExcite® is now a MetaMorph fully supported product. As a result of the many requests from existing and potential users of precisExcite for compatibility, Molecular Devices has incorporated a driver for use with precisExcite®. Selection of wavelength and period of excitation are now fully controlled by the MetaMorph imaging software package. Details can be found on the Molecular Devices website.

Future MetaMorph updates will have the precisExcite driver incorporated as part of the update. At this time, existing users with MetaMorph 7.1.3 who want to run precisExcite®, can contact MetaMorph Support to obtain the driver from the FTP site.

"Abercrombie Meeting", Oxford
UK Cell migration: from molecules to organisms

The British Society for Cell Biology and the Royal Microscopical Society host this meeting from 10th - 12th September 2007 at St Catherine's College, Oxford. Michael Abercrombie was a pioneer in the field of investigating cell behaviour using time-lapse microscopy. This meeting popular meeting expects over 150 delegates.

There will be the opportunity to see a precisExcite® unit running under MetaMorph on the Molecular Devices' booth. If you are interested in attending, please make contact directly with the organisers. Further info: click here

Olympus Life and Material Science Europa offer LED light-source options

Olympus has recognised the benefits of LEDs for its microscope users and launched both a simple LED fixture and precisExcite® as options to its fluorescence microscopy users. The company now offers a range of LED sources for all fluorescent work, from entry level single colour units to the precisExcite® advanced high speed multi-colour systems.

As a result, the Olympus LED light source range offers the right illumination solution, even for 'in field' fluorescence. For more information on this and other Olympus information relevant to fluorescence click here
