Understanding LEDs  -  Leica offers precisExcite

      Biophotonics - LED technology explained
BIO-February-Cover.jpg

BIOPHOTONICS International has published an article from CoolLED which explains current LED excitation technology for fluorescence microscopy and cell biologists.  Readers will gain an understanding of the key technology issues, trends and potential of LEDs.  This includes the technology behind LEDs and applications such as live cell imaging, confocal and time-lapse, where the benefits can be applied.

You can read the article in Biophotonics February 2008 edition, at the CoolLED website, or download a pdf version onto your computer to read later.

New wavelengths under development
CoolLED

CoolLED currently offers LED excitation at 400, 445, 465,
505, 525,595, and 635nm.  We are developing new LAMS (LED
Array Modules) which will provide excitation in the 485-490nm
region and the 550-580nm region where there are many
many fluorophores which will benefit from optimised excitation.
If you wish to be kept advised on new LAM releases, please
        contact CoolLED.
